Re: Mark Noble
He has been a terrific player for us in a series of mediocre and poor West Ham teams over the last 10 + years. But if we want to progress we need a better midfield option alongside Obiang. Noble will still play but is IMO at a tipping point where his lack of pace and height and physical strength will become too big a problem as he enters his early 30s because he will start getting even slower. In short he should not be a guaranteed starter. So then what are the other options? Kouyate who IMO lacks good technique with a football as shown with his passing accuracy and first touch / control. He also does not work hard enough and drifts out of so many games for long periods. He gets away with it because people recall a long busting run from time to time. The other option in the middle is one from Cullen and Fernandes. Both young and learning the game. Fernandes is inconsistent as is often the case with younger players and Cullen well we do not know if he can make the step up.

So we really do not have much depth do we in the all important central midfield. Add to that the club suggests they see no need to improve in this area.

Noble will continue to be the first name on the teamsheet and hence another season of "treading water" or flirting with relegation again awaits.

There are 3 sure things in life, Death, Taxes and Noble starting for West Ham.

He's Bilic's mate, don't expect any changes.

Noble annoys me. He thinks he's Mr West Ham, smug, useless fuck.

Re: Mark Noble
Stat comparison for anyone who cares.

Obiang slightly ahead on forward, Noble ahead on backwards. Noble also a fair way ahead on pass completion and key passes. So make of that what you will...

Re: Mark Noble
Kouyate's passing generally isn't as reliable, no. Obviously aerially he is much stronger than Noble. Much less likely to be dribbled past. Very different players in many ways.

Unfortunately detailed info on forward passes isn't easily available - might make very interesting reading.

Re: Mark Noble
Noble has played 347 games for WHU through the stewardship of at least five managers. I drawa massive conclusion from that.

Re: Mark Noble
What are his passing stats compared to Kouyate, Alex?

Has Kouyate ever made a forward pass?

Not really.

The only statistically significant thing in Noble's stats that I've seen is his pass completion, which has been consistently high over a number of seasons. But of course the criticism of his passing is that it's often not really significant forward passes that he makes.

Lily hammer, what an odd thing to say.

I can see your taking your role serious on the board of cunts

Re: Mark Noble
Was always an average Premier League player at best, and in times where average Premier League player was the best we could do then he was fine.

We should be aiming higher than just average now though.

Re: Mark Noble

I'm inclined to disagree with his detractors because he seemingly is more important then they realise. And considering last season was following his best season at the club, I think he's earned his right to prove himself as a worthy captain and a worthy starter.

He's in my XI alongside Obiang.

Bit harsh mate, his heart has always been in the right place, but his ability is holding the club back from progressing

Re: Mark Noble
Still think he has a couple more years as a first team starter. Played a lot of last season injured. His presence clearly makes a difference in games (Tottenham).
